When spirituality supports conspiracies

Eva and I have been noting trends of so-called conspirituality since 2020, and finally we have a chance to share what we know on our podcast:

Research shows that people who identify as spiritual are disproportionately likely to believe in conspiracy theories. There are several possible explanations for this — spiritual people tend to look for links and bonds everywhere in the world, they also believe in invisible energies and powers, so any conspiracy theories that come their way cannot be challenged by the customary tools of fact-checking and scientific verification.

If you or your loved ones are drawn to an ideology that claims there is a grand scheme to control the world, please ask yourself who may be profiting from getting you to believe this, and what would you accept as evidence that the ideology is incorrect.
