The MESPOM Consortium of four European universities – Lund University (Sweden), Central European University (Hungary), the University of Manchester (UK), and the University of the Aegean (Greece), recently joined by Middlebury College (USA) and the University of Saskatchewan (Canada) – is this year, for the first time, offering Erasmus Mundus scholarships to European Union citizens for the Erasmus Mundus Masters Course in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management (MESPOM), for studies in 2010-2012. The final deadline for scholarship applications from European Union citizens is March 16th 2010.

The two-year (120 ECTS credits) programme consists of three taught and one research semesters. The first two semesters are delivered at CEU with contributions from other partners. A module on Ecosystems Management is delivered by the University of the Aegean at their campus on the Island of
Lesvos in Greece. During the third semester, students choose whether to specialize in Environmental Sciences and Pollution Control at the University of Manchester, or in Preventive Environmental Strategies at Lund University.

The European Commission’s Erasmus Mundus scholarships of €26,000 per two years of study are offered to outstanding European-based students. Other forms of financial assistance in the form of tuition fee waivers and private scholarships are also available.

All candidates should submit on-line applications and provide necessary documents by March 16, 2010 to be admitted to the study period from September 2010 – June 2012.
